Deerstore.com is proud to present a blog created and written by our very own Len Jubinville.  We know how passionate Len is about Mother Nature and the animals who share the planet with us and that is why we are so excited he has decided to leave the age of dinosaurs and join us here in the twenty first century on his very own blog page. Actually, this is his daughter, Dana, here and I have to admit my old man is probably a little more technology savvy than I give him credit for. After all, I have witnessed him sending photos on his blackberry while traveling through the US promoting his deerhandling equipment, sneaking romantic texts to his wife while enjoying a ride on his horse drawn wagon and playing solitaire on his laptop when he is supposed to be working (you didn’t think I knew your tricks did you?)

I am honored to take this opportunity to introduce the world and the whitetail deer farming industry to my remarkable father. One of the most important things to know about Len is his passion for Mother Nature. Len grew up on a family farm in rural Alberta and the experience gifted him with a deep respect and appreciation for the earth and the animals that sustain our lives. I myself am somewhat of a gypsy-like granola cruncher at heart and although I have not always understood a farmer’s lifestyle I can’t help but admire my dad’s farming philosophy. If you have met Len, you are definitely aware of his passionate and enthusiastic nature. Watching him speak about what he loves is powerful and motivating. Personally, I am proud to know a man who inspires others to put Mother Nature first when raising their animals and farming their land.

Len first became well-known in the whitetail deer farming industry but his influence is beginning to extend past its borders and his ideas are touching many other farmers as well. Get him speaking about the importance of handling whitetail deer with the least amount of stress on the animal possible and he could speak for hours. But get him started on how important our connection to Mother Nature is and what we can do to improve it and you might as well settle yourself in and get really comfortable because you could be here for awhile.

One of the ideas he is most passionate about today is starting up Nature Agri Parks. In Len’s definition, a Nature Agri Park is a place where ’humans, commerce and lifestyles coexhist with nature and wildlife’.  Len believes farms can make a profit while remaining respectful to the animals and land that sustain our livelihood. He also believes farmers can help city dwellers learn about and appreciate Mother Nature the way only a person who works with animals and the land can.  His revolutionary ideas have been featured on the Outdoor Network and he believes the more Nature Agri Parks we build, the more our severed connection to Mother Nature can be healed for the benefit of the planet and future generations.

That is what he hopes to share here in his new blog; what a Nature Agri Park is, how to get started, suggestions to help you along the way and anything else that might help motivate you to make positive changes today. But don’t be fooled. I am sure along the way he will slip in a comment about government legislation or corporate greed or some other injustice he witnessed. Len is really not scared to share his opinions but thankfully for us they are always about making some positive change or another.  So welcome dear reader to Len’s colorful world of new ideas, opinionated commentary, insightful observations and inspiring leadership. I hope you enjoy the journey into one of the most positive minds I know. I am sure, like everyone who has the pleasure to share a cup of coffee with him, you will feel better about yourself and the planet after taking the time to peek into Len’s world.

Until next time,

Dana
